SOCOM Athlete has conducted 27 Hell Day weekends across the United States since 2017, immersing students into an intense team setting in world-class facilities/training environments providing: physical/mental challenges requiring teamwork, leadership & communication, large training logs, rubber training rifles, tactical litters, and more; replicating a training environment similar to Navy SEAL BUD/S Hell Week, USAF A&S, Army Ranger/Special Forces Assessment & Selection, USMC Basic Reconnaissance Course, etc. SOCOM Athlete Instructors/Mentors include the most credentialed experts in Special Operations Prep/Human Performance in the world. Students are first administered a Fitness Test, evaluating proper form & assessing 1.5 mile run times, max push-ups, pull-ups & sit-ups, a 500 yard swim (students not seeking careers with water requirements may choose not to participate in swim evaluations), followed by two sets of 25 meter underwater swim evolutions. Following the fitness test, students are exposed to strenuous environmental elements such as: cold water submersion, stress induced from instructor cadre, team runs & ruck marches, challenging tasks & timelines, and more. Weaknesses & strengths are exposed in each student throughout the event, providing real-time proof/analysis of whether the student possesses necessary traits to become a Special Operator. Students quickly learn that only together, as one unit, will they finish the 8-10 hour-long Hell Day. Students often have never met each other prior to participating in Hell Day, and often finish the night as close friends, establishing an unbreakable bond. Who can attend Hell Day?
Hell Day is open to any & all United States residents; Must be age 16 or older (minors require parental consent).
Registrants must sign medical waiver & have good physical/mental health. Due to COVID-19 health concerns, registration/attendance is unauthorized for anyone displaying symptoms of COVID-19. Most registrants are civilians, but many active duty military, guard/reserve, and veterans also register/attend Hell Day. We highly encourage active service members/veterans to take advantage of the leadership opportunities Hell Day provides.
How do I know if I'm ready for Hell Day?
How much do you want to be a Special Operator? Are you resilient? "tough?" Do you possess grit & a "never-quit" mindset? Hell Day divides students into physical ability groups, while also combining for team evolutions and conducting individual-performance evolutions.
Students are first administered a fitness test (PFT/PST/PAST Test). Students pursuing special operations careers without water requirements are not required to conduct the water/swimming exercises conducted during the fitness test. Students are first administered a 1.5 mile run test, followed by max push-ups/pull-ups/sit-ups, a 500 yd swim, and 2 sets of 25 meter underwater swims at a 2:30 interval. Following the fitness test, students will begin 6 hours of Hell Day evolutions; Log PT, Water Confidence Exercises, Team-building, Problem solving, instructor gauntlets, and more.
Recommended Minimum Physical Fitness Ability:
Continuously jog 2-3 miles without walking
Ability to stay afloat/tread water with head above water for at least 30 seconds
25 perfect push-ups
Ability to hold breath for 30 seconds.
Ability to lift, drag, and/or carry a person weighing 150-200 lbs.
Ability to walk/hike 2-3 miles with a rucksack/backpack weighing 30-40 lbs.
Stamina to withstand an 8-hour training day with periods of intense physical & mental challenges.
If unsure of attending Hell Day due to lack of physical readiness, analyze whether your body/mind can withstand an 8-10 hour training day. There are many breaks throughout the day to recover while transitioning to different locations, water/food breaks, team skit, instructor speeches, etc. Hell Day has featured many students in elite physical shape, but has also featured many students in below average physical shape. The true gauge of whether a student can succeed at Hell Day is his/her mental toughness.
What are the Fri/Sun Development Courses & Full Weekend Package?
Friday & Sunday Development provide students with mentoring & instruction in critical skills & topics required of successful Special Operations candidates. Instructors/Mentors feature the most credentialed experts in Special Operations Prep/Human Performance in the world. Courses are 6 hours in length. Friday courses are conducted from 1600-2200, enabling out-of-towners time to travel, and giving locals time to arrive from work/school commitments (Late arrivals are accepted, simply contact us to explain the situation prior to registering). Sunday courses are conducted from 0900-1500. Friday & Sunday Courses feature ability-based development in a team setting, Coaching/Mentoring & Fundamental/Skills Work.
