    Brand New PJ Hopeful

Hey, folks. The name is Judd. I’m a full time fireman out of AR. Really freaking interested in Pararescue. I’m in the beginning stages of talking it through with my wife and working on the PAST. So, no specific question, I just wanted to make a open ended thread for anyone to give some solid advice to the super green beginner over here. Anything and everything you’d like to pass on that is helping you or did help you! Appreciate it, guys. Stay salty.

Hey man, the name is Chandler. Pj is a solid way to go and thanks for your service brother. Definitely get yourself accustomed to the water as well as running. I’d look into a couple programs from Stew Smith and Jeff Nichols. Those programs will for sure help you get to where you need to be. I’m in college training to be a Seal so I’m more than happy to work with you!!!

Appreciate the word, man! Best of luck pursuing SEALS! I’ve been getting in the pool consistently lately trying to get comfy. It’s just a whole new beast for me. I’ve always had a pretty broad fitness, the pool is giving me heck though. Where you located at?

@judd.alsup I feel that man! Go play in rough surf sometime and it’ll make you uncomfortable real quick which is good! I’m located in Destin, Florida!

I agree with chanemmick13 on the programming. Jeff Nichols is one of the best strength coaches around when it comes to tactical athlete programming .

    Heres my advice,

there will be periods of time when you're super motivated- it’s easy to go train, it’s easy to read about the career field, you’re optimistic about your chances, and everything seems to just flow. You’re also going to go through times where you wonder if they this is really what you want, you wonder if you’re cut out for it, and it seems like you’re going no where. Everyone has doubts a long the way. Just keep pushing. Remember it’s not about you anymore, it’s bigger than that. Reach out to your team when you need help or motivation, and remeber why you started this journey in the first place.

At least that is what helps me.

    Good luck!

    Marcus
